WICC director Tracy Laughlin has formed a special subcommittee and appointed co-chairs Paul Martin and Robert Landry to plan WICCs involvement in the Canadian Cancer Societys Relay For Life. The committee expanded quickly to include other WICC directors and industry contacts and planning for this powerful event is now fully underway.

Relay For Life is run by the CCS in communities across the country, and in more than 100 sites in Ontario alone. However WICC is directing its support towards one event in particular, dubbed WICC HQ on June 19, at Esther Shiner Stadium in North York. The call has already gone out to all members of the insurance industry to get involved as part of the WICC HQ event, or at a Relay For Life site closer to home. Industry employees, regardless of location, can participate in Relay For Life and 100% of their pledges will be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society through WICC. This is a fantastic opportunity for the insurance industry to contribute to the fight against cancer. More than a fundraiser, Relay For Life is a unique, inspirational, outdoor community event that brings family and friends together overnight for 12 hours of fun and fundraising.

WICC is looking for leaders in the industry to create teams from within their organizations to help reach the goal of 100 WICC teams participating this summer (teams consist of approximately 10 members each.
