Amid the Zen garden surroundings of the 13th annual WICC fundraising Dinner, Jean Faulkner, WICC Ontario Board Co-Chair, had the pleasure of announcing the newest addition to WICCs National Sponsorship program. Speaking to the more than 600 attendees, Faulkner said It is our pleasure indeed, our honour to announce that Supreme Collision has committed to becoming our ninth WICC National Sponsor and first collision repair centre to be a major WICC sponsor In this economy this is a real accomplishment.
Following the signing of their 3-year commitment to WICC, Marty Reddick, President of Supreme Collision, provided this announcement:
Supreme Collision is honoured to become the first collision network in Canada to endorse WICC as a National Sponsor at the Platinum Level. As an organization we have always supported a variety of charities within our respective communities. In 2009 we decided we wanted to associate our organization with a charity that shared our core values and was capable of helping people on a national level. Knowing that 40% of women and 45% of men will develop cancer during their lifetime and that 166,000 new cases are recorded each year, was a significant factor in our decision. It was important for Supreme Collision to support a charity that touched people of all ages and helped to reduce their suffering and still allow them to retain their dignity.
After several months of research the choice was evident that Supreme Collision would affiliate itself with WICC as our national charity of choice on merit. We were impressed with the fact WICC is a volunteer based charity which donates 100% of every dollar to the Canadian Cancer Society to help further research and support people. Only through the perseverance of medical professionals and the financial support of sponsors and donors will we be able to find a cure for cancer.
I would like to congratulate the board of WICC and the many volunteers who have given countless hours of their time selfishly to help others. It certainly reaffirmed our decision and we look forward to supporting WICC as a National Sponsor at the Platinum Level for many years to come.
Marty Reddick, President
